Bio

Katarzyna Krakowiak (1980), graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan (diploma from the Faculty of Sculpture of Professor Mirosław Bałka, 2006). Since 2006, has employed communication media in her work. Has co-created interdisciplinary groups, collaborated with architects, mobile phone technologists, programmers and activists.  In her projects, she makes use of the Internet and radio frequencies. She is interested in the clash between technology and biology and in spaces and sound vibrations inaudible to the human ear. Since 2008, has led the mobile project of the all.FM radio. Received stipends and residency at the following projects: 18th Street Arts Center in Santa Monica (2010); Młoda Polska, NCK, Warsaw (2009); The Israeli Center for Digital Art w Holon, Izrael (2009), SPACE Gallery in Bratislava (2006). Has participated in numerous  group projects and exhibitions, such as: Gateways. Art and Networked Culture, Kumu Art Museum, Tallin (2011),  Ekspektative, The Bęc Zmiana Foundation, Warsaw (2009); Gone to Croatan, Center of Contemporary Art in Torun, Torun (2009); Ain’t no sorry, The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (2008); Próżna/Ashaver220/Rampa, Warsaw (2006/7) and individual, such as: Who owns the air? Foksal Gallery, 2011; FreeRadioJaffa, The Israeli Center for Digital Art, Holon (2009).
